We aspire to be a tribe of collectives with the goal of creating and presenting our own multi-artistic performances. In an invasive world that encourages ignorance, we want to reclaim creativity and the profoundly transformative effect that art can have in all its forms. We value quality in the works we present and want to convey emotion in an accessible, powerful, and profound way. In a world that shows rejection toward vulnerability and where superficial image matters more than content, we do our best to preserve, with authenticity, a sense of warmth and belonging.

 

The inspiration for the name Synesthesia began with the idea of stimulating several senses at once, each sense representing different artistic specialties. The concept of synesthesia (the activation of more than one sense by a stimulus that normally activates only one, such as seeing colors while listening to music ) serves as a metaphor for what we do. We are deeply driven to create varied and immersive experiences; innovative and associative; multi-artistic and synergistic.

We swim against the current of certain categories and concepts that limit creative freedom. We believe in a world without artistic barriers or limitations. We stand for a world without prejudice or judgment. An associative and generous world, where we share our commitment to cultural originality and artistic diversity. We celebrate the differences among us as a source of inspiration and learning.

 

We are guided by constructivist theory (the active construction of knowledge through interaction and questioning, promoting deeper understanding) in contrast to behaviourism, which relies on reward and punishment for appropriate or inappropriate behaviour. Our vision of power structures challenges the norm: we see our tribe, in abstract terms, as a 3D sphere or network rather than a pyramid. Each person positions themselves where and how they want within each layer of involvement.

We defend neurological, gender and sexual diversity. We contribute cohesion through our strong principles of collaboration, empathy, and self-awareness. We are committed to preserving respect for each artist’s creative independence and support the creation of fully original content. Equality of conditions and treatment within the tribe is central to us. We strongly advocate for a friendly work environment and a concept of authority that is fair and respectful.

We contribute to the arts in a committed way, with our special touch, to convey this philosophy and these practices to everyone involved: members, collaborators, assistants, and audiences. We invite all people and organizations that share these values to join us on our path, so that together we can move toward a freer, more respectful, and more inspiring artistic world.
